Finally after COVID we have been able to return to Si Chang Island to continue research with Monthon Ganmanee and students into the thermal ecology of high shore littorinids and oysters. This year Gray, Tommy, Sarah and Tun travelled to set up video cameras to capture behavioural patterns to then compare with the thermal environment on the shore using thermal cameras and snail ‘mimics’. The results should be very interesting as air temperatures were > 39°C, which definitely tested our thermal tolerance!
